The “2” data files that the ocean carrier will transmit to CBP are:
1. Vessel Stow Plan to indicate the location of each container on the ocean vessel.
2. Container status messages (CSM), which detail information on the movement and status changes of a container as it travels through certain parts of the supply chain.
Under the new initiative, the importer must also: transmit Master Bill of Lading (and/or House Bill of Lading if applicable); report the data elements at the lowest Bill of Lading level (e.g., House Bill of Lading if applicable); and, link manufacturer (or supplier) name and address, country of origin and commodity HTSUS number at the line-item level.
Note: For more detailed information on the data requirements and other aspects of the program please refer to the presentation from our U.S. affiliate TAHOCO Logistics Inc.
